At the minute, no, VIX does not support wireless...

The advantages of VIX over DE image, is that it has a newer enigma/oe, has newer drivers that support media playback better from recordings (and some enhancements for mkvs etc, but you'll have to check vu's website for what the enhancements are) and supports xmltv & .dat for epg data... Oh, and I've found it runs a lot faster than dream-elite image, and suffers less with hanging (i.e. cogs constantly whirring)...

I'm still using DE as it does what I want at the moment . I've downloaded VIX but need to get eveyone else away from the TV to try it out.

I expect V1.1 will be out before I get a chance to install it :-(

I am still on DE image as the VIX image seem to have some faults with it as i installed to a friends vu box just other day, all up and running but for example epg i would like teh same as DE worked, the sat dish movement icon is not working and needs other things iroining out.
I will keep de image until a newer version with fixes comes of VIX

the sat movement icon is a bug in the driver we can't fix, problem has been reported to Vu+

from what i can remember of the epg on DE i press blue, red, select uksat and yellow to download.
I am not sure it is the same with vix, but my mate said something on the lines of you can not get epg working i.e rest of day epg it only shows whats on now, something like that, i will speak to him and ask why exactly is wrong with it and report back.

simply, blue>RyVIX EGP>blue>select uksat>green>yellow

RyVIX is a special edition for the VIX image from the popular Rytec used in DE and other images as well. so it is the same like that on the DE, just a different path ;)
VIX was the first image to have Rytec natively built in it and working for OE1.6 and then all other images started following

Well did it, and i do like it.
When actually in yours box and running instead of looking at pics on net, looks sleek clean and operates very well.
I loved the DE image but for other reasons had ot change over to another image for testing and foudn vix to work very well indeed, will be awaiting arrival of newer version for teh few fixes, but yes nice job to the creator, top work fella

Theres some very upto date picons here http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?35-Picons In all honesty this will take a lot of work to keep updated, I think our efforts would be better used for other development as its easy for the user to ftp these themselves.

PLI for me. I like the fact that most python source is provided rather than just '.pyo' files. This gives me the oppportunity to dabble and change.

Also very important is the ability to turn EIT off.

Will the box image have full epg and not just the now and next that the vti has I find it quite a long process to view the epg first u hold it down then u choose multiple epg then u select your bouquet then u view the Chanel then u have to exit lol to get the epg screen off

Out of the box, VIX is by far the easiest to use.
The default button configuration just made sense to me.

rs232 reader, not a huge issue, but it would be nice if I could get one or the other working
as I have 3 cards and currently have to run other card in my dm800hd as I can't any external
readers to work on vu+.

Hi everyone. I have recently joined the forum. I got my new duo on new years eve. So far i am very impressed with VTI 2.3 image. I couldnt believe how easy it is to setup. had it all up and running in an hour with full epg and permanent timeshift and CCcam 2.1.4. All runs perfect. I have now created a backup image of vti so going to try some different images over next few days.

Mine worked on Vix 1.2 but then I had to manually install the drivers.

I have been using vix for some time, but the latest ver. was giving me some probs, sometimes when I changed a non-hd channel and swapped to a hd channel suddenly my box just froze.

so now im on pli.

I've been using vix ever since i got my Duo around 6 months ago. But am getting fed up with crossepg crashing when updating. So seems slight buggy there.

I love the interface on Vix. Hope little things gets ironed out soon.

I am using Vix 1.3

As for CrossEpg. I've set it so it downloads to a USB pen stick.
Use OpenTV providers for UK and ITA
About 6 Providers from Rytec XML providers list.

I am bias i know but i find that ViX is a more well rounded image that tailors for all classes of users and is exceptionally easy for those new to our hobby to setup with little or no prior knowledge. I wont say these boxes are plug and play as they clearly are not nor will they ever be but ViX for me take a lot of the effort out of the end users hands and provides a very stable and powerful image. while still remaining easy to use and and navigate through.

no doubt those who use BH will say the same thing about BH but thats my honest opinion.
