Hi

Looking at getting a toroidal dish with 7 quad lnb's and two 8 way DiSEqC for my vu duo.

Can someone tell me what are the best satellites to point them at?
Already have a dish for 28.2east but just want to see what else i can get without moterised.
The dish will be 90cm and in the london area. Any recommendations?

Also is there a tutorial on how to set it up?

Thanks

depends on whats available to you card wise, but

23.5 / 19 / 16 / 13 / 10 / 4.8 east ( and 28 east if you want ) + 1 west are all viable you will need to centre on 16 east even if you dont use it, but would need to get signal from 16 east to start with, they are a bit of a **** to set up though

this is if you want 28 east if 23.5 east instead then 13 east would be centre

Could i set it up with a basic £10 sat meter ?
Or would i need something more advanced?

Was thinking of using the signal meter app on my phone and using that with the Vu Duo so i can see if i get signal.
Would that work if i preload the bouquets and satellite xml file?

Ok thats fine.
Already have 28.2 east on another dish so would want 23.5 instead

there is an exellent sat meter on the sponcers site, it cost about £95, it includes a tv screen,

hmm bit expensive for a one time use thing etc.

Is that the only way?
Cant i use the vu duo built in sat meter?

trust me, its not expensive, it will save you hours, as in you will see what sat you are on, you could try via the unit, but these dishes are both expensive, and difficult to setup correctly, 7 quad lnb,s added to the cost, makes the sat meter a cheap option, which could be sold afterwards

well I wish you luck,....but if you are married, send her shopping for the day, and get a small mate round to help ( just joking )

seriously, good luck, key to a good set up, is make sure the mount pole is true plumb, also make sure the dish is true horezontal, and centre on 13 east

Just one more question. How many satellites can we receive in the uk?
Would it be worth going moterised?

I get from 42E all the way to 30W including hard to get 7W

What you can get depends on the siting of the dish, where you live and size of dish
