How du I change Subtitle color and position?

I have a Vu+ Duo with a VTI 2.0 image. I have some questions regarding the subtitles:


How do I globally enable subtitle support on all channels?
How do I change the color of the subtitles? - so I can get rid of the bad looking red subs used in many skins?
How do I change the position of the subtitle lines? - The second sub-line is now hanging in the middle of the picture!

I just tried out this "fix" and it works great on the VIX-image for changing the color from red to white.

So heres a copy of the fix post: -



If you're using the default skin (Kerni-HD1), then edit the file /usr/share/enigma2/Kerni-HD1/skin.xml
Find the <subtitle> section and locate this part:

<sub name="Subtitle_TTX" font="Regular;30" shadowColor="#40101010" shadowOffset="3,3" />

and add a color definition:

<sub name="Subtitle_TTX" font="Regular;30" foregroundColor="#FFFFFF" shadowColor="#40101010" shadowOffset="3,3" />

(notice the forgroundColor bit is being set to FFFFFF, or 'white' to us humans)

Now, you need to restart Enigma GUI:
Go to Menu -> Setup -> System -> Skin
Press OK when highlighting your active skin and choose Yes to restart the GUI.

I assume this would also work for a different skin, provided you edit it's associated skin.xml file. Take backup original skin.xml before you change anyhing.


I use the 750S skin. It works more or less the same smile

does anyone know how to make the subtitles not all over the screen .. ( less space between lines)
