Cant seem to install any ipk files, transferred across to tmp in root, not showing in the ipk installer ?

Tried a few different ipk files, none are showing in the ipk installer menu m8.

Are you sure its a Vix ipk your trying to install.. ??

sorry mate had to get some kip. just got in from a shoot and had a blinding headache.

i'm not sure why you cant see the .ipk as all mine work fine.

Yes its the same ipk file Ive been using
for over a year m8, I'll re flash it tomorrow,
see how it goes, cheers.

Did a factory reset, then re-installed the latest firmware again, installed AFP & Samba, copied over the ipk file, shows up in the directory as per all other times, now on the Ultimo in installer it shows nothing :-(, reverted back to 2.4 just now.
BTW I'm using an Imac-running Mountain Lion to transfer files back and forth :-)

should not really make a difference what os you use, andy him self is a mac user.

I'll wait until the next beta build comes out and try it again, back on 2.4 for now :-)

put it into /var/volatile/tmp

My guess would be that whatever you used to transfer it across has problems dealing with symbolic links, I have found this with certain version of filezilla.
The /tmp is actually a symbolic link to /var/volatile/tmp
