silly question guys..
Are you sure its a Vix ipk your trying to install.. ??
sorry mate had to get some kip. just got in from a shoot and had a blinding headache.
i'm not sure why you cant see the .ipk as all mine work fine.
added a screenshot to show its working for me.
Yes its the same ipk file Ive been using
for over a year m8, I'll re flash it tomorrow,
see how it goes, cheers.
Did a factory reset, then re-installed the latest firmware again, installed AFP & Samba, copied over the ipk file, shows up in the directory as per all other times, now on the Ultimo in installer it shows nothing :-(, reverted back to 2.4 just now.
BTW I'm using an Imac-running Mountain Lion to transfer files back and forth :-)
should not really make a difference what os you use, andy him self is a mac user.
I'll wait until the next beta build comes out and try it again, back on 2.4 for now :-)

Same here.
put it into /var/volatile/tmp
Ok m8, will give it another go when I get in from
work, cheers !
Cheers m8 that worked :-), why does it not work in root/tmp anymore ?

My guess would be that whatever you used to transfer it across has problems dealing with symbolic links, I have found this with certain version of filezilla.
The /tmp is actually a symbolic link to /var/volatile/tmp
Ok cheers for that, I'll remember that next time, :-)
