the most likely reason for the refusal, is that the new image,s password is blank, as in nothing, you need to telnet the unit, and change the units password

Yes, as long as you don't restore your setting, and setup from a fresh image...

No, cannot connect with dreamset even i create password in telnet with passwd. Cannot connect ftp in totalcommander. I can only connect with WinSCP thru scp protokol. This is problem only with OE2.0 images, OE1.6 all worked without any problems. Fresh install.

when you flashed ViX 3.0 to your receiver did you also restore a settings backup made from a earlier image version ? if yes then thats what has broken the FTP protocol in your image causing you these problems. If you set the image up from scratch as we advised in the above release notes you would not have this problem at all.

So you're not on ViX then? As OE2.0/1.6 refer to Dream Images.
And in ViX 3.0 you only experience this when settings from <3.0 have been restored.

I'm glad your finding the image to your liking bud.

now for TS panel at present it will not work with any OE-A based image including ViX 3.0. which in my opinion is not necessarily a bad thing either.

Your image is the best for vu+ uno. It is organize perfect. Do you have a guide for this image, as you know there is many setting. Guide for settings and also plugins. :)

Well, tbh, I wouldn't count on that, as we found no serious problems so far. Please post you crashlogs, so we can have a look at what went wrong.

Updated the software to 319 via the online method and the wife says box has crashed 4 times since whilst she was checking out the EPG, will post some crashlogs if i get my hands on the remote.:D

Blindscan has been part of the ViX image for the Uno and Ultimo since almost day one and is included as standard.

I can't think of the exact path rite now but it's in the same section as tuner setup and service scan etc.

On the whole the 3.0 image is very stable. And you really have nothing to loose by trying it, after all you can always go back to 2.4 if you find you don't live the newer image.

Stability is always our main concern!
Of course you can remain on an old, no longer maintained system. If you're happy with that: please be our guest.
But most people will use the innovations that are available. And by using the (automated)settings or systembackup on updating, it's very easy to revert to a previous state if an important bug creeps in.
So we'll have ViX users who never update, those who update on every opportunity and 'in between' users, who will update say once a week.

wizard all worked fine...

now when i have infobar on screen i have a flashing green light blinking
on record button, although i have no recordings scheduled or taking place ?

on main viewing screen i have two vertical rows left and right of
what appears to be square dots about 30 each side, giving the
impression of punched paper in book folder

im also unable to get a full epg running like crossepg
which worked perfect on version 4.2.4 i had running

your previous post about copying timer.xls into
/etc/enigma2, after several reboots did not work
although i still have saved movies on HDD..

please advise on first problem

press it again and the current programme description SHOULD appear in middle of the screen ... not anymore

Is there a fix for this, when ever I start the box from deep standby I get these square dots. Only way I can find to get them to go is to go to user interface and adjust the size 1 point and they disappear?

Yeah, its skin related, happens with the PLI skin listed in the plugin downloader too, but vix skin seems to work.

I'm gonna delve into the skins to have a look, can you point me to the files I should be heading for, cheers.

Any skin that doesn't support the ViX EPG screens will use the screens in the default skin. And that's what you're seeing now.
The screen in your screenshot has the screen name "GraphicalEPGPIG": so you could look into one of the ViX-screens (or the default screen) for the needed info to do the skinning yourself.

Yes, that is correct and intended behaviour.
All screens that were embedded in the EPG-files have been superseded by the one in the default skin. This save an enormous amount of code.
All ViX skins support these screens; skins that do not fall back on the default.

I changed the skin_default.xml in the /usr/share/enigma2 directory and not in the skin itself. It didn't seem to do anything.

Can't get the bouquet list up either usually push channel + and the list appears but alas no more, I have looked through the menu etc and cant find an option to change this and ideas what Im doing wrong? I don't have any other skins loaded only the standard Vix ones that come in the image only other plugging is a cam.

The arrows (above the coloured buttons) change bouquet. Chan Up/Down moves forward/back a day. Don't ask me why it changed, I pesonally don't see the point but....

I only ask, as I had another look today and a quite a few skins are now on the "fallback" EPG. This issue is gonna crop up for lots of people.

I personally think conncinnity is the best skin out there, so would be keen to make changes myself to get it working.

I have noticed issues moving a motorized dish on 3.0 that weren't present in 2.4 is this an issue anybody else has come across? Just doesn't seem to want to move the dish sometimes and I have to flick back and forth between satellites to get a response.

I'm also using USALS it just seems to struggle with 3.0 for some reason, I tried it on Vix 2.4 and Blackhole and it worked fine so I don't think it could be an issue with my motor? Is there a log I could show you that would indicate what might be causing the problem?

Double check that you actually have 655 on your receiver. I had to update twice to get it. History zap is working fine with 655 on my Uno.

i finally decided to jump from the 2.4 to 3.0 version of VIX on my Uno ( was a little forced to do it when i saw that the flash memory was 99% full !!! ), the only problem i have now is with my internal HDD, when i tried to view some movies inside the hdd i found it empty ?!! nevermind, tried to reinitialise and remount and the box still crash. From my pc using filezilla i can see the hdd (/media/hdd ) but when i try to send a file ( .avi for exple) it show 0 bit in the box ( error in filezilla , said impossible to start transfer ! )

the box is up to date , crash log file is attached.

A long key press does bring the history panel up, its not a problem short press or long press is fine by me
just confirming what the op had said, i noticed this in the previous build as well.

I had these issues. I managed to get it work before, but now i reinstalled and motorized dish is not working anymore. Even wifi dongle didnt work, until i tried older version. Have problems with dvb-t (wintv nova-t) too, just like before when i installed 3.0 first time. Having low signal and still image when image is on full screen. When i open epg smaller picture is fine. If i open osd menu signal is slightly better too :O

Which version should i try? 3.0.649 wifi ok, dish not working. Clean install, no restore.

I tried other images and having issues only on vix 3+. (2.4 worked fine)

Morning everyone,
Since approx 2 week back since a big update (Sorry, forgot what version) the box has been acting not like itself.
Currently on 3.0 build 729.
I have been doing other updates in the hope it will rectify but it has not.
The box will have glitches which are usually easy to resolve if and when they happen, very rare in my case.
Then screen pauses and goes black, No crash screen nor any vix icon spinning.
I lose all control of the box, display remains at it was on a channel, remote light on display flashes when buttons pressed on remote, but nothing happens.
This has become more recent in past couple of days and results i in having to shut off power completely from box and reboot.
2 of my family members of whom also own duo's are having same issues, but tend to mention anything until i mention it pffft.
I can assume this is somethign as regards the image at work here.
Are mods, vix creators aware of these current issues?

EDIT. I thought this was the Duo until i read the title.

I have not used my uno for a while but i have seen a few reports of this with the solo and duo since the drivers dated 19.08.2013 were introduced, although i have a solo2 and ultimo in daily use with the very latest build's and drivers and there both fine.

Das habe ich nicht gewusst, dass das so nicht funktioniert, obwohl es doch automatisch ging.
Ich habe v750 installiert vor etwa 2 Wochen, dann das Teil ans Internet gehängt und "Software aktualisieren"
ausgeführt und da wurde v763 daraus. Vorher hatte ich v204 - lief eigentlich sehr gut, mit alten Treibern halt.
Zusätzlich habe ich den "Schnitteditor" und das "Schnittplugin" installiert und mein Settingsbackup von der v204. Im neuen Image gefällt mir u.a., dass die Qualität in dB und die Prozessortemperatur angezeigt werden.
Was nicht so gut funktioniert: - Manchmal "blecherner" Ton nach umschalten auf anderen Sender
(zurückschalten und wieder dorthin - alles i.O.)
- beim Umschalten der Radiosender setzt Ton 2mal kurz aus, bis Sender richtig
da ist.
- Bewegtbild wirkt etwas "zitterig" (ist mir alles bei v204 nicht aufgefallen)
Wenn Du natürlich die v783 ---> v785 "erfolgreich" getestet hast, keine Frage, dann werde ich diese gern mal
probieren. Hoffentlich verträgt die mein Settingsbackup?

Leider habe ich ViX woanders nicht gefunden - gefällt mir aber besser als das "aufgeblähte" VTi.

What are 'certain' and 'local' channels :confused:
And which image are we talking about? Vs 3 is rather old....
