Hi Guys,

I`ve just bought the XT6000 and I connected my motor dish to it.
Previously I had this motor dish working fine with my previous receiver.
But now after I save and store each satellite position and search the channels I can not redirect from one satellite to another by changing the channels.
It shows that the motor is moving and ETA time on the target satellite but in the end it says TUNE FAILED.

Hope you can help me.

Regards,

You have not mixed up the lat and long by any chance as the dish moving GUI will show but the dish will not actually move.

Thanks for your answer,

Would you please make it more clear?
You mean I should not touch the lat and long or I should fix it correctly?

I am not experienced.

That would be very kind of you if you make it more clear

You need to check it mate to make sure you have entered things correctly as if you have mixed up lat and long, you get the moving icon on the TV with the timer but the dish does not actually move.

If you can try moving the dish again and get some to see if it is actually moving.

Also post up a screen dump of your tuner configuration.

Aha got it.

So however I should enter Lat & Long in my tuner configuration.
Where can I find lat/long correctly for my place?

And what is a screen dump? How can I take it?

just take a picture of your tuner connfiguration and attach it to your next post.

You can get the figures from here, make sure you click on motorised above the second drop box

Here is what I am doing:

First I go to the Positioner setup and tune a frequency.
After I find the signal of my desired satellite I store the position in Index.
Then I go to manual search and search the satellite.
But whenever I want to change from one channel to another one from another satellite it says SID not in the PAT

Is it possible it results from my Image?

I have installed OpenPLI 8.11.2012 version.

What image do you suggest?

Use USALs mate and a good bouquet and it will be a breeze.

I am no expert on this but sounds like your storing one sat at at time and only storing that one and expecting the box to know here to go next?

go to dishpointer and get your lat and lon

Than you want to go to menu>Setup>System>Tuner configuation and select simple positioner and input the lat and long from dishpointer into it

Thanks for your fast support.

So you mean for some one like me who has Motor dish it is just needed to provide lat and long and thats it?

So what about the storing position in Positioner Setup?

I store position for each satellite.

Does that USALs work for Motor Dish?

If your motor supports it - than yes it will

What image do you suggest for et6000 ?

I heard from some one that it might be a result of bad image

I installed openPLI 8.11.2012 Yesterdays`s Update !!

I did. Most of the times when I want to change the channel and move from one satellite to another one it does not move and says Tune Failed.

Please post your exact tuner configuration.
In the first post you speak about 'storing positions'; that implies that you don't use USALS.
I would suggest to use USALS, as that's the most easy way to set-up a motor.
And (although you're of course entirely free in your choice) I would also suggest to use ViX. That way we can help best.

I assign these settings to all my satellites.

Another question is, after setting these up I can straightly go to scan for that satellite or do I have to fix the motor?

I had Hivion 9696 full hd before this receiver and working with motor was really easy.

Make it Simple Positioner and than put your lonitude and latitude in.

copy post 8 here but you need to get your own lat and long from dishpointerdotcom

Thanks for your reply.

I did the same either !

I set it on simple mode and inserted the lat and long from dishpointer.com

at the moment of writing this message, I talked to A satellite Installer and he said my Motor dish must be reconfigured from the dish set to support USAL.

In our country USAL does not fully catch the signal.

==================
Correct me if I am wrong, After I set the Tuner on Simple Positioner mode, I can scan every satellite I want and the motor dish should catch the direction of the selected satellite.Right?

Which country are you in?

You will need to use one of the multi sat bouquets and it will move the dish to the sat you select such as this one http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?2639-Latest-vhannibal-E2-settings&p=148048#post148048

I`m from Iran.

2 questions,

1.What is a bouquet?
2.Is there any text or tutorial to learn about so-called Bouquet ?

Sorry I`m kind of newbie in satellite configuration.

Best regards.

A bouquet is just a set of channel listings.
Bouquets could be like 'favourite channels', 'hd channels' and so on...
You then edit them the way you like to add/remove channels from bouquets using a program like DBEdit, available on the downloads sections.

Thanks Judge.

So Is it important to have a Bouquet Uploaded to a Receiver Box? Does it affect the way a Motor Dish changes from one channel of a satellite to another satellite?

Yes, you could do a scan on all satellites you have available, or download a channel settings as Stanman suggests, much better option to get you started.

Ok I will give it a try but the thing is my motor dish does not change from one satellite to another when I Change the channels.

Tomorrow a Satellite technician will take a look onto my Motor Dish as he said my Motor Dish needs to be reconfigured to support USAL.

If I have any other questions I will ask your help.

Your cooperation is Appreciated.
