I need urgent help

I was flashing my Vu duo with the usb method and now its stuck and saying programming... Any suggestions? thanks guys

for how long is it on this status,

if for too long i guess u have no other option but to switch the duo off, disconnect all devices connected (usb, hdd, wireless lan....etc). then format ur flash put another image on it (may be the one u put earlier is corrupted or so). plug the flash in the front usb and switch it on.

well do not panic,...the VU is a silid unit, and linux units are hard to wreck

I would switch off the unit, reload the required image on the usb stick, (perhaps the official image first) then power up the unit, with the usb in situ

thanks guys. I just got it being a long time user of dm800 and i cant find an image that i like on it. dream elite that i loved are out of the game for now, vti is causing me trouble with skins and the last one i tried to flash was power of dreams. I just need a good looking skin and embedded rytec epg that is fast and can properly show ecm time info and other details like dream elite's beyonce series but i cant find anything good. I will try and reflash with gigant image and report back

Hi mate

A good image found here is the vu support open PLi it has lots of skins plugins etc and with a little reading or asking things like rytec or cool tv guide can be added on. As for Dream elite because they may not be developing any new images for the foreseeable future they have left us with the DE blackhole which in its self if not a bad image still useable until the next best thing comes along. Try not to compare the vu+ too much with the Dream this box has its own identity and merits maybe at the time of marketing this receiver it was a good selling point to compare with the dreambox but on reading in a number of forums users seem to think they operate in the same way and in some cases have F***ed up there vu+ in the process. My advice is to always read about what changes your about to make ...make sure it presents no problems and only then proceed. I hope all the advice already given helps you to recover your vu+ we are all here to help one another so if you have any questions just ask.

Most new images of oe 1.6 won't show ecm time when using cccam, as there is a problem. There is a work around, but it isn't great, and causes some slow downs...z

Thanks for all the advice you have given me. The image that is here in these forums those its from may. Does it support software update over the internet ? its really old otherwise. Just installed the gigant image. There was no setup process at the begining and the default lang was polish but i managed to get around that. Ecm time shows with the elgato red hd skin. it has epg import and its fine for now. Is cool tv guide better? thanks again.

don't worry the that frozen image flash when using usb method, while i have been debugging our image, i must have flashed my Vu+ Duo more than 60+ times got this for about 8 times just power off (with USB still plugged in) leave for 10 seconds then power back on. it will sort it self out with no problems.

Hi mate

I have both rytec and cool tv guide, having failing eyesight (they said watching too much porn makes u go blind) lmao i have found the graphics on cool Tv to be slightly better to view. As for software updates with VTi its blue button then VTi tools with vu support its blue button software management.
The beauty of enigma 2 is that most plugins can be added via temp folder....have fun

Yes you can perform a software update, but prior to updating take a backup of your settings/bouquets and any cam configs you might have.
