I am thinking of getting a Vu+ Solo for the bedroom and will be using wireless as the duo is already using a lan cable downstairs. I would appreciate recommendations for a very good working wireless adapter and what images are best for wireless. cheers!

You might have already thought about it but if not have you considered homeplugs?

Could than stream between the boxes as well as useing the duo hdd to record from the solo.

they are a mains power,d unit the simply plugs into the mains, with a lan cable connected to the router / unit ( you need 2 units ) it then uses the earth circuit to transmit your network

think the sponcer sells them, if not maplins

As Baz said the sponsor does indeed sell them here http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Networking-Homplugs

or you could try the wireless router here http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Networking-WiFi/Tenda-W150M-WiFi-WI-FI-Bridge-for-use-with-Sky-HD-Sky-Anytime-Sky-Wireless-Connector-USE-AS-ACCESS-POINT-ROUTER
