I have 24/7 reception on my gibertini 1.25 on the viasat xtra pl channels but you could be looking at between 1.5m -1.8m dependent on the channel you want for example i find it hard to lock on the viasat hd channels at certain parts of the day using my 1.8 channel master I`am in the south west of England.

i have a 1.2 chn master and a c120 lnb and dont have a problem
with the v-film hd chns i get about between 62% and 68% snr
on the other visat chns motor, hd golf, nature etc it's 66% to 84%
from the north west erea of the uk at all times of the day

I moved the dish to 4.8 east for the hell of it. Im getting a good readin on my meter but when I connect to the solo box all I get is tuner failed. And yes I did change the Tuner Config.

A 'good reading': is that signal strength or signal quality (SNR)?
Signal strength doesn't mean a thing, SNR is the only value that matters.
If you use the box itself, you can see what the SNR is.

The reading on the meter is around the 80%....I have done some reading and it looks like I might not get the Nordic beam here in southern ireland. Strange though as the football channels on Thor 1 west are the same. Tuner failed. All other channels are fine

Signalstrength? If so: that doesn't mean a thing. Might be the neighbour's microwave or so......
