Is this Image worth putting on my TM 800hd yet, I am still using 5/06/2010 as this is a stable image for CCcam. Any thoughts?

@ the moment, I would stick with what works, unless you fancy messing around with the unit, or have a reason to try something else, I do not own the TM800, so my comments are general advice

Are you saying that cccam was not stable under later images? I would think exactly the opposite, to be honest. I installed the 15/07 the moment it came out because previous ones were green-screening or locking up all the time.
Now I have the 28/8 and even though they added a few niggly irrelevant bits and bobs, some of the previous functionality got buggered and to me zapping and decoding the channel seems significantly slower than before. Could be due to my flash being 89% full, who knows...
About to go up to 30/8, I'll let you know.

But 15/7 was top class with cccam - you can trust me on this.

OK, 30/8 installed, I do not see any differences from 28/8 - but I'm still rescanning the channels, so, maybe...
Must say, little bit of zapping I tried, seems faster now. We'll see when everything is in place, jumping LNBs vis Diseqc switch, zapping back and forth, etc.
Later...

That i am. Nothing but trouble with this got dam box. Not stable at all with CCcam 2.1.4
The best image i have found is the 15-07-2010 so far that has been left for 2 weeks without touching the box except for phone line updates that image is pretty impressive for the technomate but the latest image has not even mannaged a day and CCcam is shut down as soon as you start trying to change from HD sport channel to a normal one.
I must be doing somthing wrong if nobody else is having trouble with stability on 24/7.

Had my TM800 since first day of release its the worst supported box i currently own after 3 months on sale there is still no stable image that do all the things they advertise it will do.

You just get betas and test images most of these are step backwards.

You first said that you were still on 5/6/2010, now you say 15/7/2010? Stop trolling! ;)
But you're right - for me too, 15/7 was solid and fast. I've tried all 3 (or, one with diff. compile dates, hmm?) of the latest ones, 26, 28 and 30/08 and I'm not having much luck with zap speed. CCcam works though - no lockups, so you must be having something unique :)
Anyway... I'm going back to 15/7. Shiny VFD doesn't do anything for me.

Yep I am sticking with 15/7, sorry for any confusion with image dates!
The less lights on the front the less my 1year old wants to play with the front of it. He he!

seems good, however is it just me or are others finding it hard to exit when deep into menus?

the exit button does not seem to work when in setup.

It does, but the overall responsiveness of the software (not just the RCU) has taken a serious knock with the last betas (26-28-30). Everything is sluggish as heck. Zapping, emulator/decoding, ...

Not sure if this is relevant but when I got my box I put the latest image straight on (28-08 at the time). It has been very stable and quick Zapping.

Phew. Who knows. Both the upgrade and factory reset processes are a bit of a mystery to me. Neither seems to clean up everything that I would expect it to.

At last, I am now on the latest image.
STILL NO CARD READER (Smargo+ is my only way to do what i want).
This image (last september) is much more stable and the box is running at about 70%c with HDD installed and my own fan on main cpu.
Where is this latest image with card reader stuff????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????.............

It's not too far away, I think they're ironing out a small bug found in the PVR side of things.

The TM800HD is fine as a second receiver just for watching HD channels, dont expect it to be as customisable are you Duo. The other option is the Solo http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Vu-SOLO-Single-Tuner-HD-PVR-DVB-S2-Satellite-Receiver Soon there will be ViX1.0 for the Solo ;)

OK, So now i will throw a big spanner in the works and add the new and to be expected TM8000 is now out and at the same price!

Is the price because there is no support for this box, (I now love my TM800HD with a very stable image from 20/09/10.), All is very good with this image inc. the CCcam file.

So do i punt for a 8000 or get a duo (Expencive),,,,,,
I would love to go for the Technomate but I am very sad that the internal card reader still not working? Has anyone gotit to work.

There is little piont in buying the TM8000HD as this has 2 internal card readers, Seems a bit of a wast of money if the 2 card readers don`t work?

TECHNOMATE SORT OUT THE 800HD CARD READER 1st then you may get some confidence in selling the 8000HD and a better price.

In this day and age i am disgusted in the way Technomate have gone about selling the 800hd un finished product and have the guts to try to flog us what says on the box, what it may do some day and not what is says on the tin!

The newer improved 8000HD must improve on the 800`s lack of image updates for me to get my confidence back in Technomate.

(10 year long fan of this much loved STB brand).

TM8000HD is a "patch" based receiver, not "team-firmware" (generic Linux), correct me if I'm wrong?

i hate to contradict you mate but the TM800HD is a linux box running a E2 based image. the TM 500 and TM 600 receivers use a E1 image.

Thanks for pointing the out Silican. I have just presumed that the 8000hd was a dule tuner version of the 800hd.
That make my choice of next buy defenatly the VU+ Duo for sure. I have read great things about this receiver and it looks like the support team have got there eye on the ball.
Thanks.
