Media player problems

Some of my avi files will not play on the duo player but most do including mkv files.

Any clues why?

hi,
the qpel and gmc settings during encoding often make problems. Post the output of Mediainfo for one of the problematic avis.

Sorry dont understand.. When i run the file on my pc it works fine and through another media type player it is fine, but on the duo some files only seem to play audio? No picture

Thats because your pc uses software based codecs to compensate where as with a STB such as the duo it's all handled by hardware. also be aware that a AVI, MKV etc is not a file in it's own rite, it's just a container and the important part is what codec was used to encode the video file in that container in the first place.

no. No STB can play all avi´s. Not even my dedicated media player can play all. The combination of different settings for encoding are simply to much for hardware.
