Hi all..

My set-up encountered a new problem today..

My whole satellite of 16E has gone and can not get a lock on it..

This was working great until today..

Anyone got any suggestions as to why this is.. or how to fix.. ??

I have Vu+ duo with DreamElite and Vhannabal settings..

Thanks

Check you long & latt settings and also check signal strengths of 13deg and 19deg to see if they have dropped. Could be your dish has moved slightly out of alignment. Although I must admit I've not tried tuning to it today.

Working fine for me.
Have you done a recent on-line update of the Image?

Is your satellite.xml file showing 16E as 160 or 158
I've had that problem before, and just needed to adjust the xml file as all the channels were greyed out.

Not sure if that's what is wrong with yours but worth a check.

i have a 1m triax dish

my signal strength on 19e is 75%

and 50% on 13E

16E is set @ 158.. not sure what this means.. ???

On My Channel Lists i have 16E down as position 160

However when I do an on-line update my satellite.xml file gets changed so that 16E is moved to position 158.

If I change the xml file back to 160 I can then pick up all the channels again.

Hope I've explained it well enough.

</sat>
<sat name="Eurobird 16A/W2 (16.0)" flags="1" position="160">

So after the update the above line gets changed to

</sat>
<sat name="Eurobird 16A/W2 (15.8)" flags="1" position="158">

If I change this back to 160 I can again view 16E

i have had this problem but only with OpenPLI images. First i would check your tuner setup to see if the sat setting for 16E is set to unavailable or not if there is an lnb number good if not select an lnb 01. Then try again to see a channel. If still no good you can use this clever utility to change the all setting that are 15.8e to 16.0e, see below. I have used it and it works.

let me know how you get on :)

Dont really want to reflash the box again..

Try using another set of Enigma2 settings / bouquets from our Enigma 2 settings downloads section.

If you send your dish to another sat 19.2E and watch a FTA channel and then send it back, does the dish attempt to move?

Or do you get any errors showing on the screen?
Are you using USALS?

Mr. Mister

Yes.. i am using usuals..

If dish is on 19.2E and i move the dish to 16E the dish does move west..

I have also tried this coming from 13E.. The dish does move toward 16E

I have also tried going into the positioner set-up and move the dish manually to see if i can get a lock.. but the dish wont move when using the coloured buttons..

So the channels aren't greyed out then?

Do you get any signal on 16E at all, or see the signal jumping around?
You gone into the Positioner set-up and done a scan East and West?

I can't think of much else to try I'm affraid.

Just checked mine I'm getting 51% on Tring

No buddy.. the channels are not greyed out.. they are still white..

I can scan 19 and 13E with no probs at all.. But when i want to turn the dish to 16E.. all i get is 0% signal strength..

I can scan all sats between 28E and 30W with no hassles at all.. Its just 16E thats the problem..

It does not matter if its an FTA or sub channel.. same thing.. 0% signal strength..

well if you only have 50% sig on 13 east, 75% on 19 east
the problem is dish alignment
I suspect that if you go to 28 east, or 1 west your signal strength will be worse

signal strength on 28E = 82%

signal strength on 1W = 59%

Signal strength on 30W = 81%

Hope this helps

16E position has weak satellites and every milimetre counts.

looking at those figures, it surgest that the arce extremes are ok, but weak in the middle, which to me indecates that the motor arce is "flattening"....this normally means that the motor want to drop slightly, and the dish raised, or vice versa

the motor setting should be your north setting on the motor itself (if in liverpool 53.300 approx) then adjust your dish to get best sig strength on bbc world on 1c west
