Spiderbox second hand

Hi there, about to purchase a second hand spiderbox 9000HD. The owner says that the original gift has expired. Is it just a matter of updating firmware to continue receiving or do I need to pay for continued access?

If it has expired there is no way to renew or extend.

Thank mate, finding it hard to get anything on google. Is it hard to do?... I'm fine with dreambox stuff and cccam etc but unsure about the spiderbox
