Hard drive for my duo

I have an old 500gb SATA hd from my old desktop. It's a seagate barracuda 7200rpm

I'm gonna stick it in my duo. It currently has 2 partitions

Can anyone tell me if I need to format it first or will the duo do it.

If I need to format will I do a quick or full format.

Best to do a quick fat partition on the PC and remove the partitions.

Initialise it in the HDD menu on the box and convert it to ext4
