Vu+ Ultimo HD PVR Triple Tuner Receiver

Hi,

I am a newbie who is considering a Vu+ Ultimo HD PVR Triple Tuner (500GB or if available instead with a 1TB hard disk option) and have a number of questions or please point me in the right direction:-

- How do you keep a backup of the factory installed image from the receiver?
- Where can you obtain the boot-loader programs and how-when should they be used?
- What preparation / tools / plugins are required for image installation and receiver use?
- What are the step-by-step procedures for the image installation and which is the latest-best one to use?
- What are the step-by-step procedure for the setup of a motorised Quad-LNB installation via VBoxII?
- Should the need arise, will this receiver work OK with a Diablo Light CAM?
- If all 3 triple tuners are DBV-S/S2 used for this receivers, does this alllow recording of 2 transponders whilst watching a 3rd transponder on the same satellite?

this can be saved to a usb or hard drive ( its in the menu settings

the latest VIX image comes with the bootloader

A usb stick

- What are the step-by-step procedures for the image installation and which is the latest-best one to use?

easy to do, but best to post a seperate thread

- Should the need arise, will this receiver work OK with a Diablo Light CAM?
yes

- If all 3 triple tuners are DBV-S/S2 used for this receivers, does this alllow recording of 2 transponders whilst watching a 3rd transponder on the same satellite?
the unit will allow this, but the unit would benifit from a 2 dish setup ( static/motorized motorized/motorized or even either of the 2 mentioned, + an extra static dish

- Can you please kindly advise on using the 1TB hdd instead of the 500GB hdd in terms of reliability-stability-quality (Western Digital drives) for this Vu+ Ultimo receiver?

- Also, is there an official user manual available for this receiver and if so where can this obtained from?

- Other than the image(s), what other software programs need to be available when setting up this receiver using the USB stick?

- During the image installation, does this receiver require a DHCP or a static IP address allocation, as dictated by the image or does it not matter?

Sorry - I have now managed to find the user manual for the Vu Ultimo.

- Other than the image(s), what other software programs need to be available when setting up this receiver using the USB stick?
None. Plugins are available on the feeds once the VIX image is installed. And if you are going to run a subscription card you will need a softcam. There are links to these in the stickies.

- During the image installation, does this receiver require a DHCP or a static IP address allocation, as dictated by the image or does it not matter?
You decide when you install the image...
