Sent a boquet and also done a channel scan.

I can watch bbc1 hd etc so getting signal but some channels are greyed out,.
When i click on them it says check tuner configuration.

I've come across this issue. It's a bug in the image when using automatic scan.

Do exactly as follows: -

1. Download image from here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?16204-Team-RED-E2-Image-17-02-2012-HD800-SE
2. Read how to flash http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?16263-How-to-USB-flash-GiGaBlue-HD-800-SE
3. Format a USB stick FAT32 as per flashing instructions.
4. Flash the bootloader, copy everything from inside PREFLASH too your USB stick.
5. Power off Gigablue, then connect USB stick.
6. Power on. Bootloader will then flash.
7. When front display says boot, power off.
8. Delete all files on the USB stick.
9. Flash the image. Copy all files inside the FINISH folder to USB stick.
10. Connect USB stick and power on. Do not power off, wait until the unit reboots itself and the startup wizard appears and remove the USB stick.
11. Go through startup wizard. SELECT NO TO ANY SCANS. SELECT SCAN LATER MANUALLY. SELECT NO TO DEFAULT CHANNEL LISTS.
12. No the wizards is complete, either upload a Enigma2 settings/bouquets pack or run a MANUAL SINGLE SATELLITE SCAN.

To upload a settings/bouquets pack follow this guide http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?623-How-to-send-save-Enigma-Settings-to-the-VUDuo-using-DBEdit You must set the satellites.xml path to /etc/tuxbox for the Gigablue Team Red image.

To run a manual scan press Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Manual Scan > Set to single satellite, see screenshot for 28.2 example.

I've seen other reports of this and found how to replicate it. Its caused by using automatic scan, its a small bug in the image. Only way to clear is to re-flash bootloader and image and start fresh. Then do not use automatic scan, only use manual single satellite scan.

i followed your guide exactly.
i uploaded a enigma 2 boquet

iv checked tuner. it set on astra 28.2
simple
send diseq no

currently trying a manual single satellite scan to see if that works.

Did you reboot the receiver?
Did you put the satellites.xml file into /etc/tuxbox?

will try that after scan completes

thanks

After the scan completes try the bouquets. If still greyed out, reboot. If still greyed out at that point, FTP the satellites.xml file from the bouquet pack to /etc/tuxbox and reboot.

To reboot, hold down standby button on remote, then select restart on screen.

Just FTP'd the satellites.xml to /etc/tuxbox and rebooted.

Same thing

You must be doing something wrong then. I replicated this issue and corrected it by following the exact steps I posted.

Maybe copy the same satellites.xml file to both /etc/enigma2 and to /etc/tuxbox then reboot.

I ftp to both the locations and it says do you want to overwrite. I say yes
This means the files were already there.

So not sure now

Yes, but could the original system satellites.xml file.

Reboot the receiver after you ftp the satellites.xml file and make sure your tuner config hasn't changed.

Same problem.

Same problem.

Follow my instructions in post 2. Ensuring you flash the bootloader first, then the image. Select no to all scans in start up wizard and selecting no to installing default lists. Follow instructions to the letter.

Ok let me try again from the beginning.

Is teamred the best image?
If not it might be easier to flash a different image?

No stick with Team Red for now. New images have a softcam issue that will be fixed within the next couple of weeks.

Make sure you flash the bootloader first. The files in PREFLASH folder.

07-07-12, 14:05
Yes that what i did.

The preflash took a few seconds
Then i deleted the files and copied the finish files to the root of usb, that took a few minutes to do then as soon as wizard came up i removed USB and followed your instructions.

Ok try this before flashing again.

FTP ALL the files including the satellites.xml from the settings/bouquets pack you are using to /etc/enigma2, the also cope the same satellites.xml file to /etc/tuxbox.

Once done reboot and check your tuner config is still correct and try your channels. If not, then start again.

Are they encrypted channels?

What settings bouquets pack did you use?

jazz5000
07-07-12, 14:46
Yes encrypted.

I used these http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?18281-28-2e-Channel-List-With-Sly-numbering!-by-B16MCC/page2

They were working ok before when i had issues with not all channels showing.

Have you installed and started your softcam?

jazz5000
07-07-12, 14:59
Ok figured something out.

As above i can now click on all the channels and nothings greyed out, But when i click on a channel nothing happens (no picture)
but some channels work (the ones that were not greyed out previously)

So although there are no channels that are greyed out, I am still having the original problem

Is the box faulty?

jazz5000
07-07-12, 15:00
Yes did that, I get a few channels but not the rest

Sicilian
07-07-12, 15:02
The box is not faulty, you are doing something wrong :trustme:

Try these http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?18545-Mr-Mister-Vix-28-2-East-Bouquets&p=141803&viewfull=1#post141803

Remember transfer the satellites.xml to both locations, etc/enigma2 and /etc/tuxbox

Reboot after transferring settings.

jazz5000
07-07-12, 15:06
Ok will try them

Only thing is i prefer the other boquets as they are the exact number

jazz5000
07-07-12, 15:23
Didnt realise these are also numbered. (Might try these on my Vu Duo now lol)

Ok tried these on the gigablue. Rebooted then tried it.
Same thing

Check tuner config, Its changed to Mrvix 28.2

Get bbc1 etc but not much else.

Sicilian
07-07-12, 15:27
Ok,

Do this and report back.

1. Flash the bootloader.
2. Flash the image.
3. Go through startup wizard, select NO to ANY scans and do NOT install ANY defualt channel lists.
4. End of startup wizard do a full single satellite scan. Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Manual Scan as per attached screenshot.

Report back with the amount of channels found.

jazz5000
07-07-12, 16:13
ok did the above

scan 100% done! 490 services found!

that doesnt seem right does it?

ok did the above

scan 100% done! 490 services found!

for 28.2 east double that and a bit more.

you looking for around 950 to 1050 services, although not all will be TV channels.

jazz5000
07-07-12, 16:20
Does that mean a faulty tuner?

Sicilian
07-07-12, 16:21

Are you 100% sure you re-flashed the bootloader, the image as instructed? This is a bug caused by using AUTOMATIC scan. Re-flashing the bootloader and then image does cure this issue. Then do not use automatic scan, use manual single satellite scan.

jazz5000
07-07-12, 17:04
Yes 100%

Did manual scan as you said.

jazz5000
07-07-12, 17:30
Just did it all again with another usb
Same thing.
Go through the wizard etc.
Select NO to any scans
Select Scan later
Select NO to installing default channel list

Once the wizard completes it automatically goes into a favorite folder with no channels in it.
I have tried manual scan and sending a boquet,
No luck to either.

Contact where you purchased for them to checkout the unit.

Are you 100% sure your feed, signal and LNB are correct? Can you test with another receiver? Are you using a direct feed from an LNB?

jazz5000
07-07-12, 17:59
Ok
Only got it yesterday, Was from WOS

Yes have my VU+ running fine with it
Its a quad lnb, Runs direct from lnb to box

I'll be honest, I'd be very surprised if this turns out to be a faulty unit, but suppose there is a small chance. http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/index.php?route=account/return/insert

I remember when these first came out people having this kind of problem, only finding half the channels, and if I remember correctly it was some thing to do with diseq. Even though you aren't using it you have to activate it, I could be wrong though.

I've the exact same problem - 490 services. Haven't tried the reflash bootloader solution suggested here yet though - will let you know how I get on. Previous to reading thread this morning I assumed I had a screwed up satellites.xml or something.

Sicilian
08-07-12, 13:58
Follow instructions I posted with the Team Red image, this is the only cure. I've replicated dozens of times and cured it this way.

08-07-12, 14:42
To test the DiSEqC theory posted above, I ran the manual scan again - this time with 'Send DiSEqC' set to 'Yes' for that tuner. Returned 983 services this time. Not sure why this makes a difference as I've no DiSEqC switch on my dish (pointed at 28.2 only)

** Edit...with 983 I'm probably not missing anything now - Kingofsat is showing 940 as total number of services for 28.2.e.

With that I'll probably leave it as is for now.

I can confirm that setting the tuner to send diseqc to yes, does indeed fix scanning

Hi
that worked thanks.

Iv now tried the latest image as the problem is solved.
But having the same issue.

Using openaaf when i install it, the wizard doesnt give you the option of not installing default channel list.
I think this is causing me problems. Iv uploaded my a boquet and get some channels. But not all.
