Cant update box by online update

Hi

Box is currently on vix 2.4

I go to:
Menu
Setup
Vix
Software Update

It says theres 59 updates
I press update

It then updates the box and i get the onscreen message,
However even after 5-10 minutes it still displays this and nothing happens.

I reboot the box from the back and it just go back to how it was before.

How do i get it to update? Or is it possible to use a USB to update it?

Depending on circumstances (and number of plugins installed) an update can easily take more then 10 minutes.
If you want to see what happens, do an upgrade via telnet:

init 4
opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6
now you see the telnet output, showing exactly what is being upgraded and when it is done.

also the box constantly freezes and the mgcam needs restarting every few minutes.

Ok figured out how to do it.
When the box is connected I loose my internet on PC.
Having to use phone now to type this

Its stuck on inflating packages

Yh it gets stuck on inflating packages, I think there's a network problem as my internet connection stops working whenever the box is connected.

Stop mgcamd and try again.

Have you altered the config for mgcamd as I used the same config from my dreambox and that caused the problem of the cam randomly stopping, changed L: to { 00} and B: to { 06 } fixed it for me.
