Is this a clone?

Hi

I bought my box from the sponsor and a mate bought his box from a shop,

Side by side there identical. I have even opened it up and it looks the same.
Only thing is mine says on the front Dolby Digital Plus and his only says Dolby Digital

Does this mean his is a clone?

The 'Plus' was added on later versions.

No: the 'plus' was added at the time the drivers supported that. Hardware is the same (apart from the print).
