In that case, I'd download the image again, (ViX-2.4.151-vuduo_usb.zip) http://www.world-of-satellite.com/enigma2/openvix/index.php?dir=Vu%2BDuo/

Format your USB stick as FAT32
Try the bootloader again, it only takes a few seconds.

When extracting onto the USB make sure the bootloader & then the image are in it's correct folders.

It's been a while since I did it on any of mine but I don't think so.
Someone else will jump in & correct me if I'm wrong.

If i remember correctly it should do the exact same thing as when flashing a image, although the time to flash the bootloader is only a few seconds but once done you should see the same message as a image flash ie remove USB stick and reboot.

right ive tried 3 different usb's and cant get it to load . this is what im doing:

1- i downloaded the boot loader duo_cfe_3_0_usb and once on my usb there is one folder vuplus - once i click on that it brings up another folder duo and once i click on that it shows two files cfe_cf_auto and then another file saying update . i insert the usb inot the front of vu+ duo and turn on reciever . it says reading for a few seconds and then gos onto start the box ( so i dont know if the bootloader has actually loaded)

2- once that is done i reformat the usb and load onto it the actual new image . again it has one folder vuplus then the next duo and then three files .i turn of vu+duo inser the usb into front of box and then restart . it says reading for a few seconds but just goes onto starting and doesnt load image - any ideas guys its driving me nuts lol

Your folder structures are fine so.

Not really. All USB sticks I have work perfectly & I've tried loads.
It's just some users seem to have issues with different brands.

Are you using an original box, not clone? & are you sure the USB stick formatted correctly?

It's an original so.
Try with everything else disconnected, just the USB stick in the front.
If that doesn't work, try the back USB ports.

you could also try with one of those memory card / usb stick readers if you have one, they work well. it just looks like the box is not picking up those USB sticks, it can be very picky but personally i have never had a problem with any stick.

These are the stick i tend to use my self and they work perfectly fine.

When updating (with usb stick & proper files) you must push the CH - button on the receiver to update. Or else it boots normally. Also I've had usb drives that won't work, while another usb drive does.

not on the Duo you dont
Correct: the DUO will always update if/when an image is found during the first stage of the boot-process.
