I've been struggling to set up OScam om my ET9500 for a legitimate Freex TV card. I've tried numerous file configurations, and settings provided by others that work for them, but nothing seems to work to recognise the card. I read on another forum that there is a problem with the cardreaders on the ET9500. Does anybody know anything about this bug or can help with setting up the card reader. Thanks

To test the reader try cccam as cccam will read the card with a blank cccam.cfg.

I've tried installing cccam 2.3.0 with a blank cccam.cfg. I get 'Error Reading Webpage' on most info options, details on ECM info for FTA channels and nothing for encryted channels.

Is CCcam Definitely running?

Now I've checked I'm not entirely sure, although I found below in my messages:

I started it, it says it started, I set Autostart, rebooted. Softcam Manager says it's active. However there are no configs listed on the config page (I assumed it was because mine's blank) and the status plugin doesn't have anything listed. Apologies if I'm being a bit vague, but as you've gathered I'm a newbie struggling to get to grips with my new enigma box.

It may seem obvious but I have to ask, is the card in the right way up and is it going all the way in to it's slot ?

I have assumed it should be chip up, but throughout all my experimentation with all the softcams and all the configurations I have tried both slots and both ways up.

My card works in top slot with CCcam, chip down, pushed hard in on ET9200

Whichever way up or slot I try cccam reports 'no or invalid card in reader'. Coincidentally Oscam always reports card reader status 'Off'. I know the card is valid and satellite locked as I have another box on the loop out which works fine with the card.I'm about to throw in the towel and buy a CAM but hate to be defeated !

Is the box firmware / image all up to date ?

I just upgraded the image to vix 2.4.143, (great by the way, thanks to vix team for that). I didn't have any luck with this issue on the previous, 2.3 either though. Not sure where to check for firmware updates.

I am using CCcam 2.2.1. I realise you are on a "higher" level but it might be worth trying. Of all my problems, installing and getting CCcam working was minimal.

That's what's making me think there's something wrong with my box. It doesn't strike me that it's supposed to be this difficult. Thanks, I'll try CCcam 2.2.1. If that doesn't work I might take the lid off to satisfy myself everythings connected !

The ET9500 is untested by VIX as Xtrend feel we don't needs samples for testing, so I'm afraid we can't even test or check your issue.

It makes me feel a little better that's it's not something simple. I'll try CCcam 2.2.1 later, and then have a look inside the box. Following on from your reply I'll also try contacting Xtrend to see if they know of any issues. Shame they're not very helpful to you guys as I think you're doing a great job.

I have taken the lid off my ET9x00 and confirmed there were no loose connecters, and although there were unused sockets on the card reader board, it matched other images I found on the web. I have also purchased a Smargo which works fine with my card and CCcam. I can therefore confirm that the card readers do not work on my ET9x00. Furthermore, I tried an old Icecrypt CAM which works fine with my card on my old TM, but does not on the ET9x00. I would furthermore suggest that maybe the CI's don't work either ! I'd be interested if any other owners have experience of this issue.
