Pirate Bay responds to blocks.
Users in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy have been blocked from accessing the Pirate Bay, as widely reported. Now, the notorious BitTorrent site has launched a new site at
194.71.107.80, which may be reachable in those countries, for now.

The new site is also optimizes for use with proxies, which can help to get around a national or local block of a website. It is likely that the new IP address will be blocked in affected countries very quickly, but the proxy optimization might be useful for some users.

It is somewhat different than the normal Pirate Bay site, in that it only posts links to magnet files, it does not allow logins or comments, nor does it allow you to upload.

Just want to confirm, it's ok to talk about illegal websites, distributing illegal/pirate software, films etc but not card share??? Because to me it's the same thing.

I'm sorry but there has never been any toleration of warez on this site and we have never and i will categorically state NEVER distributed any illegal pirated software, movies, or music what so ever.

This thread is nothing more than a discussion about the website The pirate bay, There is a huge difference between discussing personal opinions about a file sharing site and illegally sharing a subscription card. If you have trouble telling the difference that says more about your character than that of this site.

Wow hang on I'm only asking. These sites have been banned by uk ISP's yet we are "discussing" how to circumvent this.

no need to use them proxy sites just edit your windows hosts file and it will bitch the blocks put in by the isps by using the hosts file before the DNS lookup that way it gets to that pirate site before your isp gets the chances to block

Yes they are banned by uk isp,s, as are other sites,

and in China, and other country's, various sites are banned, there are plenty of sites that allow Card share discussion as well, but not here

its a bit like going to an Italian Restaurant, expecting to buy a Chinese meal, we dont do CS talk, others sites do

Yes Basil I agree, I'm just tying I draw a comparison. Both are illegal yet as soon as someone mentions CS, you guys, quit rightly say "no CS talk read the rules", but when File sharing is mentioned it seems it's game on. Surely you should also be saying "no FS talk"?
I may have been misinterpreted and came across as pro CS, I'm not, just trying to understand. Sorry

The ruling blocks access - however it is not illegal to use file sharing websites such as TPB.

What would make it illegal is someone being taken to court and found guilty of using TPB - which will not happen. They may be found guilty of downloading files illegally but not using the website.

There is a clear distinction, but some people cannot see through the muddied waters.

Just as C/S is not illegal (In the UK anyway), but I can see why the owners of many sites block talk of it, as conversations stray into places which are helping others commit crimes.

No, not misinterpreted at all, and you are entitled to ask the question, or offer your point of view/argument

The morality of the thread is open to question or opinion, but the stance of the forum, as I understand it, is as I have said,
we offer limited support to the sat hobby within the confines of the rules
what other sites do, or what the local government do, its up to them

we do not support warez sites, but if Google is used for example, various sites can be found, which may or may not be legal "where you are"
this thread is merely a discussion

to which you have responded
