View Full Version : swapfile and picons
Can someone explain when I try and setup a swapfile I only get the option to set the file up on both my hard disks. My usb drive is not listed even though it is mounted correctly. Likewise when I download the silverfox picons I only get the option to put them on hard drive and not on my usb drive. Thanks
I think you need to make sure the USB stick is formatted in ext3 or ext4 format.

Yes as basilyoung says, format it in pc to fat 32 and it will be instantly recognised in vix for picons and swapfile after you mount it.

Sorry guys, a bit of confusion in this post:
to be able to use a stick for a swap-file it must be formatted in Ext3/4 (and also timeshift that is a requirement). For all other purposes FAT32 is fine.
To format to Ext4 go to HDD in the system menu and initialize the stick (and make sure you chose the right one!)
