View Full Version : Streaming VU+Duo to PC
I have managed to configure the VU Webinterface successfully on my PC....The only thing I can't get to work is the streaming, I have the latest VLC Media player installed but I'm unable to get it to work...I was wondering are my Webinterface settings correct ?
Or is there something else to configure ?

can u access the webinterface from your pc.
what happens when u click on the stream icon (last icon to the right of a channel). have u set vlc as the default player for the m3u
Yes...See pic.
vlc media player pops up, but wont play.

first thing i noticed was the file has the wmp icon and not vlc although it says it is default  ----> try to re-intall vlc again and make sure u select the m3 file as being set to vlc during the setup (it is not checked by default)
do u have any firewall turned on that is monitoring even internal networking traffic.
Reinstalled it...Just the same though.
i can see u r using firefox, what happens if u used internet explorer
try to re-use the ports as 80
have a look into this thread (http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?525-Simple-streaming-VU-to-PC)
keep us posted.
It downloads a small m3u whic plays, but the ip and port that flashes on the screen are incorrect, well the ip is correct but not the port.
As shown in the picture in this post
http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=318&d=1273659347
the port should be 8001 for the vlc, what is it that u have
Yes it is but the port on my vu webinterface is not that....Should I open 8001 on my router ?
yeah, u can try two things:
1- revert back to the default port 80 on the webinterface (restart enigma2 after changing it)
2- open the port
u didn't confirm if u have any antivirus or firewall intercepting the traffic on ur pc
I followed this post with regards to port number.
http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?656-Remote-Access-Remotely-access-your-reciever
a) 'HTTP Port' - It is strongly recommended that the port number 80 is changed to another random number. For this guide i have used port 1222
I'm using McAfee Antivirus and just the standard XP Firewall.
ok then u need to forward ur port to the duo ip
Done that, port open but still the same...
Thanks for the help.
It downloads a srea.m3u file what is it ?
Off to bed now.....Cheers.
ok let's try something
in firefox and with the channel u want to play, right click the link and choose copy shortcut. now open vlc>media>open location from clipboard and click on play
will the channel play normally?
Sorted.....What I think was happening...Trying to stream a HD channel accross my homeplugs....That's why it kept dropping the stream...When I selected a normal channel it worked....
grtmoby....Thanks for all the help...
