media/hdd reverting to dev/sda1

i have a Seagate ST1000DL002-9TT1 1000gb drive works fine but keeps reverting to dev/sda1 from media/hdd, for example working fine yesterday set the timer to record 2 films through the night went to bed, checked this morning and they were recorded to internal memory, and my hdd was not mounted and and not intialised, getting to be a bit of a pain, i have a cruzer usb stick set to media/sdb1 which i have my picons and cross epg info sent to.my hdd is set as,
device /dev/sda1,
mount/media/hdd,
type; ext4 r/w.
