I can stream my VU output to my laptop ok on my home network so but is it possible to access it from a remote location via another broadband connection and if so how?

Hi,
you need a huge upload like 10MBit/sec and a router where you can setup port forwarding. Further more you need a fixed IP or dyndns (or similar) for your WAN-IP. If you have less then 10MBit upload you can search for Muuta or Restream.

You would also need a 10mb or better download speed where you want to watch from as well! Much better to transcode using a pc to a smaller stream. There are guides how to do this in the stickies
