Hi

I am getting a VU+Uno next week and am wondering if, as a temporary measure, I can use a cable splitter and taking one of the satellite cable feeds to a Sly box split it so that the cable feeds both the Sly box and the Uno.

Is it possible to do this and what are the drawbacks/problems?

Thanks

You can't use a cablesplitter for satellite feeds. This is due to the fact that part of the tuning is done by (in) the LNB.

seriously do not do this, unlike cable you can not split satellite feeds without risking serious damage to both the lnb and tuner card / satellite receiver.

you can use the loopthrough feature of the Uno to feed the sky box but in order to use the sky box the uno would have to be in standby mode. or fit a twin / quad lnb and provide a dedicated feed to the uno.

Hi,
it can be done but only with a special splitter for sat. This splitter only allows DC fron one output and the other is blocked.

Thanks guys, I thought it was too easy, and although a novice I had my doubts. Do not believe everything you read on Amazon has to be my guide in future.
