hi
i need help ,
when i put the command ls /dev/sd* my external hdd show it mount as sda
so how can make it mount as sda1 ??
sda is basically saying that there is a hard disk at the device /dev/sda
sda* means that different partitions on that device. If you just have the 1 partition, then you just get sda1. If you have 2, you get sda1 and sda2...
Have you actually initialised the driver yet?! -> Menu -> Setup -> Hard Drive -> Initialised (not sure if I missed an option there, as can't remember off top of head)...

i tried to initialised the hard drive i have this message ( failed , partition error ) i don't know where is the error because i formatted many times in fat32 , nfts , ext2 , and ext3 and i made it only one partition without success.
Try this guide that I've put together http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?1798-Setting-up-your-external-USB-HDD-with-your-Solo-the-easy-way!
