is ur computer connected to a network?
if yes then u can simply browse the vu from your computer network browser or another way is using ftp (connect and copy the file to your laptop)

i think when using DE there was a plugin called file browser, with it u can browse ur hard disk and copy the file to a connected flash drive for example.

these are the ways i can think of :)

Another issue you may have is that the file will be a TS file, and may not be able to be played directly by a DVD player, if that was the intention. It may need to be converted to some other file type (say DivX) or even produced as an "authored" DVD.
