Sorry for the double post :rolleyes:
thanks for the link, do i still need to install the bootloader even if i have the the original VU+ Duo box?
It will do no harm to flash the boot loader first anyway! Follow the guide and any questions then keep posting!
thanks for your response,
i know how to install the image but not the bootloader. How do i install the bootoader?
Exactly the same process!
Extract onto a USB stick and reboot the receiver!
When prompted, remove the USB stick and power off at the back!
Now, extract the image onto the USB stick, insert into the duo and power on..
You know the rest then...
hello: and welcome mate. if you had bought from the sponsor, he would have flashed it for you;)
How do I install the MGM cams?

I take it you mean MGcamd..
FTP the ipk file to tmp folder..
Then press blue button..
Then select Vix..
Then select Install Local Extention..
Press the green button to install..
After a few seconds you will be asked to restart GUI..
Select Yes..
Now ftp your mg_cfg and your newcamd.list file into usr > keys
Now press blue button and then select Softcam Manager..
Press green button to start cam.. and then press blue button for Auto Start..
Thats all there is to it..
Hope this helps..

Also will i need to add my own bouquet?

Vu+ Duo No Service Found Check Tuner Configuration
i think ive messed up the tuner configuration settings, can someone please assist? the dish is standard Sky dish!
Tuner Configuration is done by Menu / Setup / Service Searching / Tuner Configuration
Highlight the tuner & click OK to change the settings.

What are the default configurations? I have no clue
all depends where you are based & what satellites your dish can pick up.
What satellites are you trying to tune?

if you are motorized, the tuner that controls the dish needs your geo position : ie 53.000 north 2.00 west

As you said you are on a SLY Dish, i'd presume it's not motorised, so tuner configuration should be set to:
Configuration mode: Simple
Mode: Single
Satellite: which ever you are facing...
Send DiSEqC: No
If you have a motorised or multi LNB dish, the settings will be different, so let us know before we can help any further.

I've got a sly dish, is there a mode : single? I thought it was mode: simple???
And how would I work out which satellite I'm facing?
if its a sky uk mini dish its likely pointing towards 28.2 east unless it has been moved. how old is the dish and have you used it before for example with a sky uk receiver ?.
as for setup just follow judge's instructions in post 19 above.

The sly dish is about 3years old.. Works perfectly fine with sly hd box
In that case it's pointed towards 28.2 east so select that in your tuner settings.
Cool now working...but my international free channels are not working.... Blank screen, why is that?
Which international free channels ? remember that some channels while free still require a sky card to be present in order so that you can watch them these are called FTV or free to view channels.
Ok no probs... Even channels like channel 5 hd are not showing?
Some channels are not showing as full screen, why is that
you may need to update your bouquet ( channel lists ) on the receiver. as for channels not displaying as full screen, that depends on the format the channel is broadcasting and the program being shown at the time. for example all old episodes of the simpsons broadcast with thick black bars down each side on the HD channels. You can adjust some settings to help ( cant think of the exact ones rite now as i'm at work and not near a receiver ).
And for the record CH 5H D is not free to air it is encrypted and FTV.
go into menu>settings>system>AV Settings and select just scale for 4.3 16.9 content

Theres a thank you button;)

Up and running, tried a different mgcamd..
Now I'm part of someone's server but all channels don't work, for eg sly sport 1 doesn't work but sly sports 2,3,4 works...
You need to go back & read the rules you agreed to when you joined the forum.
You won't get help with non local cards here.
