Where Do I Start?

Hi everybody,

I recently had a dish installed and bought a TM5302HD receiver. Never used a satellite TV before. So I was quite excited to see so many channels and so many languages. Joined this forum to learn the basics. I am completely intimidated and baffled by technical terms used by the members. I have no idea what the Linux systems are or what Enigma 1 or 2 mean. I see terms such as iDreamX and ViX Team Images Support. What does it all mean? what image are they talking about? Is there a place in this forum that explains the basics in the simplest possible language?

Hope somebody could point me in the right direction.

Hello and welcome DHM.

There is no FAQ as the subject area is so huge but as you have a TM box, dont worry about the VIX image as we dont do one for this box.

As a first step, have a read of the various forums and you will soon get a handle on things.

Welcome to the forum, but please understand that you have a NON-Linux receiver so none of the tools created for Enimga linux receivers will help you.
