how long to load after image flash

loaded latest vix image turned on and twenty minutes still as loading on menu on tv screen

it should load at most 1.5 minutes.

Which image did you have before you tried to upgrade? If it was quite old there is a good chance that you have to update the bootloader also.

If you were already on the latest bootloader turn it off and pull out the power cord for 10 minutes and then try again.

'loading' is the normal screen when the box is ready and no channel is showing. What happens if you push a (any) button on your R/C?

BTW: The very first boot after a flash will always take some more time then the next boots.
