Hi,
Has anyone took the options to change their hard drive from EXT3 format to EXT4 as offered in the Hard Disk menu on the Ultimo.

Any ideas of what advantages this may offer?

If you initialized your HDD with VIX, it will all ready be EXT4, no need to run this.

My Hard Drive was in the VU+ Duo (so EXT3), and has about 1.5Tb of recordings. Can anyone confirm if the recordings remain after the conversion?

I would backup if you can just in case but unless you do a full initialisation the conversion should not affect your recordings.

Yes if all you are doing is converting from 3 to 4 it works fine and recordings are unaffected, did it on both my boxes some time ago but the old adage if you can't afford to lose it than back it up first.
