how to get tring to work in vu+duo box, with ccam ?
anyone any ideas, and a step by step guide please
From what I've read (as I'm also intrested in getting a tring card)
You need to run CCcam2.13 and also OSCAM.
As for how to configure it I've no idea as I've never used OSCAM or have a Tring Card.
I shall watch this thread with interest.
(if you do get it working please share how you done it)

WHat image are you using?
The dream-elite image and vti image have oscam/cccam available in their download servers...
i know it is in database, but were is it after installation, in my ftp programe dcc ?

first, in cccam.cfg delete all lines related to internal reader.
Then make sure you put card with chip facing down in upper slot (/dev/sci0). And thats it.
And you need to create these three files with linux compatible notepad. I recommend notepad ++
one question,what does "pincode = 1234" ?is this needed? my tring works,but EMM i got only in scam.

I tried this part but still no differance, my cccam server is offline now also.. Do i need to open a port for the oscam to work, or is there anything else in that config i need to change for my own setup ?
may be u need to start cccam

i dont know, i just copy/pasted this config from german vuplus forum. I dont have tring myself but iam using oscam and it works great.
I am looking for someone to test so files for me.
I have packed Mgcamd and oscam and CCcam and oscam for VTI image and Tring.

Just got myself a TRING Card as well.
Can't get it to activate though.
What are you using to get the card working please?

activate only with scam.maybe oscam/scam works also well,but i can test on end of august.monthly update.

I've got it actiavted now.
But I don't really know how I done it. LOL
I started by having OSCAM and CCCam running, but I couldn't get it to activate.
I then added MGCAM as well, and had to run that manualy, it stopped CCCAM Working but it updated the card but I couldn't get any pictures still.
Re-Booted box, and then had OSCAM and CCCam running only, as the Entitlements were activated I now get a screen.
SO I have some sort of config issue.
I must need to use a combination of
OSCAM
MGCAM
and CCCAM
Unless the update I done when I added MGCAM I changed something.
ANyway it working now, but I don't know if it will update.
I posted the files earlier on a board that supplies the Tring card, seems that Mgcamd works and updates the card.
Was that where you got files from ?
Yes, I think it probably was.
I'm trying to Run a SKY UK Card and the Tring Card at at the same time.
I can now watch all what I should on these cards (running just OSCAM and CCCAM)
But when I start MGCAM from the telnet prompt the rest freezes up.
I'll have to had a good look at my configs.
Is there only 1 config file from mgcamd? (mg_cfg) that I need to worry about?
I still can't see how mgcamd communicates to oscam?
Oscam communicates to mgcamd via newcamd.list iin usr/keys
You can not run all three at the same time.
What image are you using in your VU ?

If you want an honest opinion then yes, Mgcamd is the best client.
If you are in to sharing then look to join a mesh with honest people that all use Mgcamd.
Back to the drawing board again then.
Does MGCAMD have a web interface as well?
I'll have a look at getting it all working with OSCAM and MGCAMD tomorrow then (or maybe later tonight)

if you have a second unit....have you concider.d serving the tring card via mgcamd to your vu, via a N line, as the encyption speed is slow

There is nothing slow with it. if set up correctly it is far more stable and quicker then CCcam.
But your suggestion of using Mgcamd to serve the card is spot on.

The SKy Card is only a FTA Card.
Just so I could record some extra channels.
Main Card is in the Sky box.
Does MGCAMD not work very well on Sky Cards, all my stuff is just used on the vu.
I have a DM500 as well but that is dead as a reciever, but it may still work as a card server.

well your main card will work on the vu, with a few small adjustments, but mgcamd does not run well in conjuction with cccam, hence my bridging surgestion, (not used mgcamed in ages)

Well I'm trying Just OSCAM and MGCAMD on the there at the moment,
On the OSCAM I'm getting that it's reading and decoding the card fine.
BUt I'm not getting any pictures on the screen still.
If I restart the OSCAM and CCCAM I get a picture again straight away.
Can't see why OSCAM show that the card is being decoded OK on MGCAMD but I don't get the pictures on screen!?
Right got it working now with OSCAM and MGCAMD.
Just needed to re-start the box.
Rather than just re-start the cam.
Mgcamd will also work just fine with your Sky card, if you need any help with config set up let me know.

Mgcamd 1.31 + Oscam 2967 Tring This file is only for Tring on your VU +
On Duo top slot only.
This file is only for VTI Image
FTP to tmp and manual install.
can you let me know do i have to download mgcamd 1.31 seperate and then oscam 2967 also seperate ???
the only reason i ask is they are not together for download in the cam downloads ???
