CrossEPG stops at Starting Converter

I'm giving BlackHole a try on my Vu+ Duo after getting fed up with the random crashes using Vix, but now having trouble with CrossEPG. I've configured it to use the USB device (which is mapped) but when I go into the downloader it just displays 'Starting Downloader' for about 20 secs then changes to 'Starting Converter' and hangs. The only thing I can do at this point is to power off and on the box

Any ideas what the issue might be
