Enigma2 Crash when setting up VLC plugin

This consistently crashes when trying to configure VLC player on my VU+ Duo at the point of pressing the green button to save. Previously it also crashed when exiting using red button, no log for this instance. I only enabled logging to hdd just before this crash, so nothing earlier. Crash log already been sent to email address in crash log.

How can I do this without crashing?

Seems a lot of people are having this problem, but no one is saying how we can fix it!? digital kaos forum say try using a stable image like blackhole! Unbelievable.

Not the answer you're waiting for, but: why do you want to use VLC? If you mount a PC/NAS/other box you can perfectly play all the files from there without any plugin.

BTW: The crashlog shows there is a problem in the plugin itself; probably it's not compatible with ViX.
