Is there a reason you can only edit your posts for up to 10? minutes after you've posted?

Sometimes I have more info to add later on but don't see the need to add another post...editing the current one would be much easier!

it's just the way the forum is setup, most forums operate in this way, not all but most do.

I'm on several hundred satellite forums alone and 90 percent of those easily have this system

I guess one of the reason is to stop people editing posts in unquoted discussions when there have been many subsequent posts.

Most forums I have been on as well follow similar process.

Well yes...you have to use a bit of common sense...I'm not talking about editing a post thats 3 months old or has many replies after!!

most forums im on except a few do this and PLi are the worst for it they only allow 5 mins to edit

I am with you Sandman, I do find it frustrating.

I can understand why it can help with normal users but as a VIP and I am VIP/ mod or admin on all the boards I frequent I find it a real pain in the arse and unnecessary.

Can you look at this sic ?:D

Yeh i'm another that finds it a little annoying, I usually only need to edit posts to correct spelling though :D
