can't initalise hard drive (superblock?)

running latest build of vix and trying to initialise my hard disk again as advised in another thread to fix some issues. i keep getting the error

Error:mke2fs 1.41.14(22-Dec-2010)
/dev/sda1:Memory allocation failed while setting up superblock

How do i solve this??

First make sure timeshift is off and any other services are not using the HDD. Reboot and try again.

Only other service that was usin my hard drive was epg. Ended up flashing to a vu+ OI, initialising and then installin vix. Seems to be fine but havin issue with epg at moment
