Image backup and settings backup

few days ago I got crash of Vu Ultimo and the box cycled trying to boot
the only way which help was flashing with external usb but I lost every setting satellite channels etc
I would like to know what image backup do and what setting backup do
I see that Image backup can be done on either external usb and hdd but setting backup Is somewhat automatical

backup manager creates a backup of your settings and plugins
image manager creates a image backup of your box exactly as it is now backing up every thing.

I have done backup of settings and plug Ins and also Image backup selecting hdd
how can I Install all these files
I noticed that Image backup Is only 4.5 MB

are you sure thats not the size of the settings backup ? as a full image backup should be 50+ meg

I am doing It for the first time and Is strange to me also
this Is the name of file - kernel_cfe_auto.bin and Is 4 MB
I have tried to do an Image backup to usb - It says executed but I got nothing writen to usb

I'd like to know if there's any specific rule in the way the name are assigned to each full image backup.
For example:
vuduo-20120926_201145
it's clear that the first numbers: 20120926 are for year month and day.

But what do the numbers after the underscore stand for?

Indeed: on recent builds the image version & build are in the name as well.

You should mention you see using Ann older version, as we assume you are using one of the latest updates. Like asking why bit locker cannot gaffe find when using Windows xp...

The image backup backs every thing up in the current image setup. including any passwords and settings etc.
