Control TV without HDMI-CEC

I've recently switched over to a Vu+ Duo from a sky box and after trying to set up HDMI CEC, i've found out that my TV doesn't support it. Is there another way of getting the Duo remote to control the tv? I know with the sky remote I had to enter a code into the remote for the tv, I'm guessing that just changes the IR signals it sends. Is there some way of doing that with a Duo remote?

No you can't do that with the duo remote I got one of the harmony range of remotes there great

Hi,
the current version of the Duo RC also have a TV button and are able to switch of TVs, change volume and input of the TV. Take a look at your remote perhaps it is one of the new kind.
