I have been trying to stream TV from the VU to my PC I have the latest version of VLC installed - "1.1.11 The luggage" and my network connection is working fine.

I run Webif from FF click the TV to send the "stream.m3u" file to VLC and get the following error message:

>>Your input can't be opened:
>>VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.12:8001/1:0:1:189E:7FD:2:11A0000:0:0:0::102 - BBC Two'. Check the log for details.

Looks like the wrong port is listed 8001 not 8088?

Also is there a way to directly link a tuner from the VU to VLC as a playlist?

I just use dreambox control center. open it up, click on the webif then when the duo screen comes up just click on streaming

8001 is the correct port for streaming. That's the error you get if there is no free tuner. Do you have a free tuner at the time you are trying to stream? How are the tuners configured?

Yes theres a tuner free, they are both setup as single tuners A/B with dual cable going to each.

Is there a way to select a tuner in the string?

press menu>plugin>change port to 00080 and ensure authentication is disabled.

I changed the port to 00080 but all it has done is change the port for webif

>>>VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.12:8001/1:0:19:2710:801:2:11A0000:0:0:0::103 - ITV1 HD'. Check the log for details.

I dont think that I would need to open the port on the router as it is not outside my home network, is this correct?

Forward the port in ur router. Make sure your firewall isnt blocking access either

Ok I have forwarded port 8001 to the PC that I want to stream to and turned off the firewall on that PC. still no joy
