Hi Guys

I am really new to satellite equipment and have just brought a Ultimo to watch Freesat.....

How go I do this? I have it connected it to an old $ky dish and have setup both of the tuners but cant find Freesat do I need to get a $ky card for the receiver?

Freesat channels the same as sky uk are broadcast from the same satellite's so just do a scan on 28.2 east or load a premade bouquet pack such as silverfox's or the SGTFlipFlop bouquets.

Thanks I watched those but I have an Ultimo not a dreambox?

I have the wlan setup and can access the root via the network from my pc, is it just a case of transferring the files in your bougets to a folder?

Did you chose Engima 2 from the options in the profile tab?

Also need to have "allow duplicates" enabled in the advance tab.

Thank you Stanman, I managed to transfer all of the files OK and they now in the channel listings.

When I select a Freesat channel I get a tune error, is this because I need a FTA $ky card?

No, check your tuner setup in menu>services>tuner configuraton to make sure its 28.2. If it is do a full rescan and see if that fixed. Is it all channels or only one or two as they may have moved location since the bouquets were released.

Thanks guys,

I'm not at home now so will have another go at it later. All of the channels are up loaded now so it must be a tuning error.

I read in another thread that I needed to buy a Sly FTV card to get the Freesat channels? I don't have one yet do I need to contact Sly and get one?

You can do or try and pick one up from Ebay for under £20 or less but make sure its still active

You need to be clear about freesat.
There is freesat
http://www.freesat.co.uk/ and these channels are avilable in SF bouquet and marked as FREESAT. nothing further is needed c

There is also
http://www.sky.com/shop/freesat/home/ these you will need a sky card, doe not need a valid subscription to work.

Go Menu>Setup>services>tuner confiuration:

Simple
Single
28.2E
No

repeat the same for all tuners that have a cable connected, if not than just set them to loopthrough from A or which ever tuner has the cable connected to it.

i suspect you have not setup the tuners but i am not near a receiver to go through it with you. stanman on one of the others will post the instructions on how to set up the tuner cards.

Thanks for making it clear about Freesat and Sky Freesat.

None of the freesat channels work in the SF bouquet .... Guys please don't laugh I've got a feeling that I have set the satellite dish to 23.5E!!!

Just change it to 28.2e and save it for all the tuners and that should get you working

Stanman

Follow the instructions in post 22 and go to BBC1 and see if you can get a picture.
