ms security essentials has served me just fine for over 2 years and not once in that time have i had any issues unlike with other av suites that i have used, nod32 and kaspersky included.

I have used Kaspersky on my desktop pc's for the last 10 years now, and never had any issue's (that said not had any probs with ms security essentials on the laptop either but I don't use it as much as the desktop anyway).

tbh, if you're a careful user, then you won't get problems! Even with the best av in the world, you're still susceptible!!!

All sorted, BIOS had last date & time and I had entered UK format not realising manufactures have no frigging clue that there is actually a format other than American. so it was 02/12/2012 rather than 12/2/2012. Once I realised in Windoze all sorted.

Each to it's own as I find Microsoft Secuirty Essentials great, it's free, light on the sytem and it works. Now if I visted doggy sites then I would pay for one.
