Access Vu Duo from web browser vix 2.3?

Hi all,

Havent had the vuduo for long, but great support on here for setting it up etc :)

However i still cant access the box on my computer. I am using vix 2.3. Looking through other treads I have seen someone else have the same problem, and they solved it by:

ipaddress:08088 (which is the port number that is the same in mine)

However nothing seems to work on mine?

Any ideas anyone?

it keeps reverting back to 08088 and still doesnt work?

You should never include the 0 before the port number, it's just the way it's displayed in the config on the box.

http://ipaddress:8088 would do it, or as Maxwell said, simply change the port number to 80 which is probably better anyway.

It's probably reverting back because something else is using port 80. What do you have in your plugin menus?

Thanks everyone for your help, for some strange reason my vuduo keeps changing its IP address everytime it starts? Very strange i need to find a way to keep it the same.

It doesnt happen to any of the other devices connected to my router, the IP address always stay the same, but atleast i know i can access it now! :)

You can either assign a static IP on the box or go into network settings on the box and disable DHCP and assign a static IP that way.Personally I take the router route.

I agree with Stanman, assign a static IP to the box via your router and I would also choose a random four digit port for the web interface too. This will be particularly relevant if you plan to access your box remotely from outside your local home network. This is exactly what I've done with my Vu+ Duo, working like a dream!

Got mine changed to port 80 after many goes and reboots but its now asking for a name and password any ideas ?

Turn off http authrntication in the openwebif plugin
