my vu+ solo has a black hole na dimage set up over a year. If I upgrade my black hole to the latest version of 1.7.1 image what is going to happen.
I am i gong to loose ye existing set up channels, favouries etc?
are to different dish posiiton set up for hotbirt and sats will disappear and need to be reset?

for starters your going to need to load the newest bootloader onto the receiver otherwise you could cause some serious damage by loading a new linux kernel 3.1.1 based image. you can also backup your channel lists ? bouquets using some thing like dreamboxedit then using a FTP client backup your cam configuration files etc.

You can copy your bouquets to your desktop by using dreamboxedit or dreamset, there are tutorials in my signature on how to do it.

If you use any softcam, you will need to copy them as well using FTP client such as filezilla. Its worth going into the tutorial sections of the forum for a wander.
