Setting Up A Network Mount

Im not getting anywhere with trying to setup a network mount so that I can stream downloaded files from my laptop to my Duo.
In network browser I can see my laptop but when I press ok to expand, nothing happens.
As far as I know, I've set up the laptop to allow media sharing. I'm not really sure what I'm doing with this.
I know I can stream this laptop to my PS3 and XBOX 360 with ease so it must be set up for sharing right ?

Any pointers would be most welcome.

I had a similar issue with the network browser not seeing shared SMB volumes served by my iMac. I solved it by using the mount manager to enter the iMac IP address, share name, and authentication information directly. This was with openPLi; other images may work differently.

Do be aware that playback of some formats can be imperfect. I'm told MKV containers work best.
