Problems with new SATPLUS SH1106 Sat Meter

I am having problems with my new SATPLUS SH1106 Sat Meter as follows:-

1) Pressing FIND ive gone to Sirius 4 (4.8), got a decent signal strength, and pressed the OK button (as instructed at the bottom of the screen) in the hope of installing channels - but nothing happens.

2) Pressing MENU/SATELLITE I have selected AUTO SCAN and tried to install the Sirius 4.8 channels this way but have been unable to.

3) I scanned some Astra 28 transponders for free channels and it installed them. But some of these Astra 28 channels are listed under Astra 23.5 and more under Astra 19.

4) The Mute Button only works if I keep my finger on it.

Is there something wrong with the unit or can I fix these problems?

nothing wrong with unit mate mine works the same way

as for scanning channels

FIND is for finding sat once found a good sygnal then exit out and press SCAN to scan channel


as for astra dont forget many transponders are similar thats why the scan function is there so you know where you are
some transponders will be same on 28 as they are on 19 and 23

the units are upto day the day they are shipped so the transponders are pretty much on the ball

so for sirius find a strong sygnal then try a scan

if yoiu get nothing then yr not on sirius but some where else and retry the find again moving dish

Thanks for the advice Silverfox. You are quite right, there's nothing wrong with my Sat Meter. I was able to instal new channels via the SCAN button, although it took me a while to figure out that you have to pro-actively select the FTA or ALL option before the search activates. (The User Manual says " select desired mode for searching and then press OK", which I dont think really explains this). Although I think the Chinese-English manual is diabolical the meter I am now very happy with.

Maybe I should post the following in a separate thread but will try it here for the moment:- Whats the best channel to tune in on for each satellite? Ive been amazed at how signal quality varies so much between different transponders on the same satellite. I have no idea what transponder to tune in on on say 4.8E. There must be some channels better to tune in on than others. Is there a list anywhere appropriate for the UK ?
