Hi,
I've got the same here-ish. I did an online update and the box is now stuck at Starting... has been for 2 hours....
I've switched it off and on again now but no change...
I did update the extensions last week if that makes any difference???
Any one else had a problem with the updater?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Flash your box again with bootloader and then image..

alloow the box to boot up and do the normal set up..

Telnet your box to do the updates..

type this into telnet..

opkg update .. The press enter..

opkg upgrade .. Then press enter..

shutdown -r now .. Then press enter..

allow the box to reboot.. and all your updates will be done..

This works 100% each time..

hope this helps

I also had problems when I done the online updates. The VU+ would crash at 99% at download then hang. I would then have to use backup restore to a previous saved version to get it working. This has happened 3 times and now don't bother doing updates.

You said that your box did not flash.. ??
Then you say that you are trying to do the updates and crashes at 99%..

You cant have both..

Dont matter now anyway.. Just flash the Vix 2.3 204 image.. and there will not be any updates to do..

How did your box become like this ? did you turn it off mid way through a flash ?. are you 100% certain that you correctly flashed the bootloader ? as if you have loaded a linux 3.1.1 kernel based image without the bootloader being flashed properly this could be why you areb having problems.

whats the fix if the image was flashed without bootloader being installed first?

How old is the receiver and why did you flash the bootloader ?, all Genuine Vu+ Duo's sold in the past 12 months ( and more ) already have this bootloader pre-flashed.

yes but when did you buy it ?, The revision number on the main board while handy is of no consequence at the moment.

I bought approximately in January / February 2012.Spain!
I tried to flash it to install the BH 2.0.8.

Have you tried to flash the bootloader again after the last attempt ?.

A bootlog (serial log) might shed some light.

With the null modem cable?I tried more times!
None connection with the box!Even via LAN!
The decoder looks dead....
Ciao!:rolleyes::mad::mad::mad:

A bootlog always works and always provides some info.
Use a program like 'Putty'.
This has nothing to do with LAN; in the stage your box is in, LAN isn't yet functional.

Hello to all!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Try flashing the proper bootloader again, if it still does not work you have corrupted the boot partition which can only be fixed by j-tagging the receiver.

gi@nc@rlo

by j-tagging the receiver.

What is this?Have a picture, example?
Many thanks!
