Hi,

Does anyone know how I can setup a cron job on the VU+ Duo so it restarts to a standby state.

I can set the cron task to reboot but when it boots up it stays on the last watched channel.

Thanks

Why would you want to do this?

Got the latest Vix 2.3 image on ver 190. After a while I notice it runs quite slow so have to force a manual restart.

Thought if I could set up a cron task to restart to standby each night would keep it running bit more smoother...

I would imgine that this will be fixed shortly but you could try this in the meantime if you are having issues!

If you short press blue and enter the Vix menu and then the Power menu you will see various options if you select enable.

You can from here set a time for the next Reboot/Standby etc.

Why don't you set your box to reboot at a set time overnight and after a minute or so set the box to enter standby mode from this menu also??

I presume you updated to 2.3-204 now? And do you still experience problems?

Location - /media/usb/
Crossepg - Scheduled download: once a day

Plugins Installed:
CCcam

No external mounts

Tuner Config:
Tuner A - Single 28.2e
Tuber B - USALS

hope this helps

Thanks. Helps indeed: could you please disable SWAP as that is a notorious culprit for systemspeed (especially when on USB).

Do you have picons installed? And if so: where?

Try running the box without a swap file as this can drastically slow the box down

Sure I will disable the swap.

I have picons installed and the picons are installed on USB. Is this an ok place to store the picons?

In flash they will work a bit faster; there's plenty of that fast memory available.

Which directory do I copy them to if I am storing it on flash?

To '/picon' .

Thanks!

Is it advisable to set the epg to go on internal flash too or leave that on USB?

EPG on USB is fine. That file is only used on starting & stopping Enigma.
