Is it possible to set one tuner to a fixed dish and connect a diseqc switch to the other tuner connecting to another fixed dish and to the motorized dish, I am not concerned about moving the dish as it is run with a 36v motor hooked up to my old echostar which I currently loop through to the receiver. The idea is that I can always record 2 recordings from 28east yet when no more than one tuner is being used I can move the dish and watch other things but should another recording kick in on 28 east it will switch and record even if the motor is let's say at hotbird as the receiver wont be able to move it, any thoughts and help on this will be appreciated as always, cheers chaps:thumbsup:

Yea should work no problem just set one tuner to simple: single satellite 28.2 and your other tuner advanced: and the set each satellite as diseqc 1.0 with AA & AB which ever way around you connect the inputs.

cheers mate will get a switch in and try it, basically one side of the switch will be set up to 28east and the other side of the switch will be all other satellite, is that right? thanks:p

Basically yes if say you where taking 2 feeds from 28.2 then 1 feed goes directly to tuner A and is set as i said above and then your other 28.2 feed along with the feed out from the echostar would go into a 2 way diseqc and again set as above, Just don't forget because your on a 36v you will have to manually turn to each sat for your other receiver.

from what I make of your question, tuner A would be set to 28 east

your tuner B would be connected to a motorized dish, and a static dish, which I assume to be 28 east, with another unit controlling the dish, is this correct?

yes mate, that's it, I prefer to carry on using the 36volt motor as that's the real stuff and I don't really want to complicate matter with a v+ with the VU+ if you know what I mean:D

good reply, in that we now know your setup config

I am not sure if a diseqc 1 ( a/b ) would work,

but in any event, all sat that can be recieved by your 36v dish would be Tuner B, set to advanced, and all available sat set to LNB 1
and scroll down the various options, and set USE USAL,s "YES", to NO, and then set the sat position to whatever your V-Box is set too, ( i use the following method 19 = 19 east, 13 = 13 east )

I do also have a diseqc switch set up here, and will run a test, as I think its possible to incorperate the diseqc switch as well

cheers mate, let me know how that get's along, remember I'm not fussed about the motor being able to move, just that the receiver allows access to 28 east on both tuners from the fixed dish and also the pick of any satellite that the motor is already stationed at, thanks:p

diseqc 1.0 will work i have a DM800se setup like this in another room although its a single tuner it is still the same config i have 1 feed from 28.2 which is set to LNB1 AA and a second feed from my quad output on my motorised dish which is controlled by an ultimo in the other room, and so that feed is set as LNB2 AB and it has worked perfect for the last 12 months.

Its the same i can see 28.2 all the time on LNB1 and what ever satellite my motor is pointing at on LNB2, if i need a different sat i just go into the other room and move it via the Ultimo, similar to what the OP will do with the echostar.

The ideal solution would be to bypass the echostar and feed the Vbox straight to the diseqc switch and let the VU control it via advanced setup but that defeats the purpose.

The switch should arrive in the next couple of days so I will get cracking, should I set it to regular motorized first to download all the sats or just set the tuners up as above from however they are now, i.e both fixed on 28 east:D

You just have to set it up as i explained above and no need to scan satellites with a Linux box just upload a channel list from the many available from the Enigma 2 section and your good to go.

I don't really like uploading channel lists I used to get errors and the box resetting plus some tp's are always off, I want to manually scan each satellite I want to use the old fashioned way:p

Must just be you then i have never had a problem with any of the pre-made channel lists available, Just saves the ballache of scanning every sat and then resorting in some sort of order.
